Writing about doze? Here is how it looks and talks.
The bats, the colours, the type and the words, in one place, so a slide, a blog post or a README looks like the rest of the family. Take what you need; no permission form.
doze is lower case. Always, even first in a sentence.
It is a word, not an acronym, and it is the command you type. The two products beside it keep the name of the thing they stand in for.
The local-development tool: the app, the CLI and doze.hcl. Repo doze-dev/doze.
The local AWS emulator. Repo and binary keep the hyphen: doze-aws.
The Kafka broker in one Go binary. Repo and binary: doze-kafka.
Hyphens belong to code: repos, binaries, package names. In a sentence, write the name with a space. AWS and Kafka are trademarks of their owners; doze AWS and doze Kafka speak their protocols and are not affiliated with them.
A sleeping bat on a tile, one colour per product.
Asleep until something needs it: that is the product, and the bat is the whole joke. All three are traced from one bat, so they sit together in a dock or a row of tabs. What it hangs from tells you which one it is.

The bat is drawn to read at 16 px on its tile. Take it off the tile, recolour it or squash it and it stops reading as ours.
Night and a lamp. Daylight where you read and copy.
Marketing pages are dark: a room at night with one amber lamp on. The docs and the registry are daylight, because you read them for an hour and copy from them.

Say the problem first. Then the fix, plainly.
People come to doze because something hurts: fans, ports, a setup doc that worked once. Name that, then say what doze does about it, in the fewest exact words.
The sleep words
doze has one metaphor and keeps to it. A service is asleep, dozing or awake; it wakes on a connection and goes to sleep when nothing needs it.
And: no invented customers, quotes, logos, download or star counts, or benchmark numbers. A benchmark we publish names the machine, the versions, the date and the command to run it yourself.
The files.
